ABOUT TNC COMMUNITY
Founded in 1949 as the Cerebral Palsy Foundation and later becoming the Harry S. Truman Children's Neurological Center, TNC Community is located throughout the Kansas City metropolitan area. The mission of TNC Community is to be the region's foremost provider of high quality services to persons with developmental disabilities by providing our clients the opportunity to achieve their goals in a safe and healthy environment.
TNC Community is an advocate for interdependent living, meaningful community education and inclusion. TNC Community is also an advocate for the removal of attitudinal, architectural, communication, transportation and other barriers to people receiving services.
TNC Community provides residential services, and integration into the community. Individuals choose from a wide range of options and opportunities designed to enable them to acquire the confidence and skills to lead a meaningful and enriched life.
Our Goals
- Maximize the percentage of individuals who participate in integrated community activities.
- Minimize the number of reportable client incidents.
- Minimize the number of medication administration errors.
- Maximize current staffing ratios in meeting community integration goals.
- Percentage of persons surveyed who report being very satisfied with 90% of areas surveyed...applied to all clients and/or guardians.
- Percentage of persons surveyed who report being satisfied with 90% of areas surveyed...applied to service coordinators, funders, medical community, homeowner associations, community church members, employees.
